LOVE IN NYC

Photo & community guidelines

Share love. Respect everyone in the frame.

These guidelines keep stories about couples, families, friends, pets, places, passions, and New York itself authentic, welcoming, and safe.

Keep a real New York connection

Every submission should explain a genuine personal connection between what you love and New York City. A beautiful but unrelated photograph, advertisement, property listing, restaurant promotion, or copied travel image does not belong in the collection.

Submit your own memory

Use photographs you took, own, or have clear permission to submit. Do not upload professional photography unless the photographer has authorized this use. Images of buildings, art, food, and public places must still be your own or properly licensed.

Get everyone’s consent

Every identifiable person featured prominently should know about and agree to the submission and its visibility. A photograph featuring a child may be submitted only by a parent or legal guardian, or with their clear permission. Be especially careful with bystanders, private locations, and sensitive circumstances.

Keep stories authentic

Names or initials may be used for privacy, but the memory should be genuine. Do not impersonate people, invent harmful claims, manipulate photographs deceptively, or present commercial promotion as a personal story.

Content we do not accept

Thoughtful presentation

We may correct grammar, create a short introduction, select a category and cover photograph, crop images for display, and apply Love in NYC branding. We will not intentionally change the meaning of your story.

Homepage selection

Approval places a public story in the full collection. The homepage is a separate owner-curated selection of up to twelve stories, so publication does not guarantee homepage placement.

Report or remove a story

If you are pictured in a story or believe content violates these guidelines, contact us with the page link and explanation. We may temporarily hide content while reviewing a request.
