Information we collect
When you submit a story, we may collect names or initials, email address, hometown, relationship description, New York location, memory date, written story, photographs, visibility choice, and consent confirmation. Contact messages include the information you place in the form. Our hosting and security providers may process basic technical information needed to operate and protect the site.
How we use information
We use submissions to review, moderate, prepare, publish, display, and manage Love in NYC story pages; create branded social images; communicate about a submission; respond to requests; prevent abuse; and maintain the service. Email addresses are not displayed publicly.
Automated writing assistance
We may use an automated writing service to create a short English introduction from the names, location, and written story you submit. The owner reviews and may edit that introduction before publication. If the service is unavailable, a location-based template is used.
Public and private pages
Public stories may appear in the collection and search engines. A private page is not listed publicly, but anyone who receives its link may be able to open and share it. A private link should not be treated like a password.
Sharing and service providers
We use service providers for website hosting, storage, database operations, security, and optional automated writing. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect people, rights, and the service.
Retention and removal
We keep submissions and contact messages while needed to review, publish, administer, resolve disputes, and protect the service. You may request correction or removal through the Contact page. We may retain limited records when legally required or necessary for safety and fraud prevention.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13. Anyone under 18 should submit photographs only with permission from a parent or legal guardian and everyone pictured.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, a visibility change, or deletion of your submission. We may ask you to verify the email used to submit it.
Questions or privacy requests may be sent through our Contact page.
